Using a food processor, grind the almonds into flour. Add the protein powder, dates and orange zest and process until a sticky dough is formed, about 1 minute. If your dates are extremely dry, soak them in warm water for 15 minutes, then drain, before adding them to the almond flour.
Transfer the brownie mixture to a cake mould or small box lined with cling film. The dough is very sticky, but don’t worry, it will harden in the fridge.
Refrigerate for 1–2 hours or for an hour in the freezer. Then cut the brownies as desired. Decorate, if desired.
Enjoy the brownies as a dessert, snack or eaten as a bar at the gym. Store in the fridge or freezer and consume within a week.
